Host Ahyiana Angel is talking about legacy, building a strong community and more from her experience attending the Commas Live Your Legacy event hosted at Draper University as well as being a panelist at the first Tech Intersections conference for women of color in tech.
I was super excited to attend the Commas event where I had the chance to network with some dope people as well as meet and grab a quick photo with the Keynote speaker, Gary Vaynerchuk! I've been following Gary Vee for years and his advice and presence are what keep me coming back for more. I wasn't sure what he would be like in person but I wasn't disappointed! He was very down to earth, super polite and just open to conversation. I loved how he kept it very real during the Q&A and I can't wait until we cross paths again. If you would like to see a bit of the action you can catch me, Your Chief Encourager, toward the end of Gary's vlog. Click here to see it.
A few gems from another speaker, Monique Woodard:
How do you build a legacy?
1) Put points on the board every day toward building something that matters
2) Be your authentic, real ass self
3) You don’t have to be nice, but kindness is 100% free
4) Sometimes delivering a swift ‘no’ is being kind
Myself and a few of the ladies from the panel discussion snapped a quick shot after the discussion.
The Tech Intersections panel was my first time participating in a tech based event and the experience was great! I met some wonderful women and we had an insightful panel.
After the morning panel I headed out to brunch with a few friends and some of the ladies from the panel actually joined as well! It's so important to surround yourself with like-minded people. They help you grow and get better!
This episode was recorded in the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime Advanced. This car is a hybrid which allows for electric recharging as well as gas fill up. The ride was smooth, gas mileage great and the tech awesome!
